Vicki Love

An old high school friend, Ray Brown, had a house in Mexico. Todos Santos. We'd been teammates on the Upland High School football team and tennis team in the 50s and kept in touch over the years. Ray asked if I wanted to come to Todos Santos for a visit and I said yes. While there (this was the summer of 2010) I got a Facebook message from Vicki Love, a girl I'd dated in high school. Nothing too serious back then. But I remembered that she was very good looking and I was very attracted to her.

This was 1959, my senior year in high school, her sophomore year. She was fourteen. I was fifteen. But things didn’t quite work out back then. On our last date she accused me of not appreciating her as a complete person. So we had this little fight and we broke up and that was the last time we had any contact until her Facebook message reached me at Ray’s house in Todos Santos, fifty-one years later.

I waited a few days before answering because I knew  if I did answer something serious would happen. We emailed some and talked on the phone and then decided to meet and when we did we knew we wanted to be together. A few months later, on November 19, 2010, we moved in together and we've been together ever since.
